Crowns & Implant Crowns
Crowns have been around since the early 1900's and have improved over the years. Most crowns were made out of Gold or Porcelain until the 1960's when Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) Crowns were introduced. Now there are even more options when it comes to choosing the right type of crown. Gold is still a popular choice due to how strong and reliable it is. You also have the options of Porcelain Fused to Metal and All Porcelain (Ceramic) Crowns. Dr. Wang will be glad to discuss which crown would be best suited for your needs.
Are you missing a tooth? Replacing a tooth has never been easier. Dental implants are now the standard of care for tooth replacement. After surgical placement of a bio-compatible titanium implant, an implant crown is placed following the appropriate healing time. This dental implant functions as a natural tooth without the worry of tooth decay.
Dentists and oral surgeons (dentists with special training to perform surgery) perform tooth extractions. Before removing the tooth, the dentist will give you a local anesthetic injection to numb the area where the tooth will be removed.
Reasons for extracting a tooth could be for a number of reasons: excessive decay, severe infection, tooth fracture, crowding/orthodontic issues.
If the extraction is complicated or if the patient has complex medical issues, a referral to the Oral Surgeon may be given.
Sleep Apnea Oral Device
A sleep apnea oral appliance is a premium, custom-fitted dental device developed for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. It is an effective, comfortable, and durable alternative to CPAP therapy or corrective surgery.
By simply wearing a custom fitted oral appliance while sleeping, your lower jaw (mandible) will be moved forward into a comfortable position, allowing relaxation of the tissues at the back of your throat and ensuring the base of your tongue does not collapse and block your airway, giving you a safe and soundless sleep. Most patients and practitioners prefer oral appliance therapy for its comfort, convenience and effectiveness.
Does the thought of having your teeth cleaned make your entire body tense with fear? Would you rather endure the agony of a toothache than step foot in a dentist's office? You're not alone. A lot of people are so fearful about going to the dentist that they avoid treatment. Sedation dentistry may be for you! Sedation can be used for everything from invasive procedures to a simple cleaning. It may help alleviate some of your anxiety.
We offer the use of oral medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. It is sometimes referred to as conscious sedation, sleep dentistry, or twilight sedation. Patients, however, are usually awake but relaxed. If you feel you may need this as an option, give us a call.
Dental fillings have changed so much over time. In our office we only offer composite resin fillings. Amalgam (or mercury/silver) fillings are becoming a thing of the past. The main advantages of composite resin fillings are that they are tooth colored and do not contain mercury and heavy metals which are found in dental amalgams. They are also equally durable and provide good wear characteristics.
Most composite resin fillings are generally easy to place and can be done in one visit. Treatment times may vary depending on the complexity of the case.
Partial & Complete Dentures
Partial & complete dentures are great choices for many of our patients. We work with a local lab and have had wonderful results with raving reviews! The materials have improved greatly over the years. You can now get metal-free partials and more natural looking teeth.
We take the appropriate steps for a great fitting denture. Dental implants can also help retain your partial or complete denture for better fit and function. If you are missing a few teeth or need a complete denture or even need your existing denture relined or repaired give us a call!
Dental implant surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with titanium , screw-like posts and replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones. Dental implant surgery can offer a welcome alternative to dentures or bridgework that doesn't fit well.
How dental implant surgery is performed depends on the type of implant and the condition of your jawbone. Dental implant surgery may involve several procedures. The major benefit of implants is solid support for your new teeth — a process that requires the bone to heal tightly around the implant. Because this healing requires time, the process can take many months.
